Rather than becoming "that kid" who once a week, or what-have-you, shows up late for work it might be best to explain the situation beforehand. Personally, I take the T and then a shuttle into work every morning. Therefore, I battle both the never faithful greenline trains, followed by traffic in the city before getting on 93. And when the green line delays me from catching the shuttle, I then have to take the train all the way inbound to catch the redline outbound to work.
